Over the Weekend...

Last Friday was Relay for Life here in Baytown. I participated in the survivor walk for my second time. Jeremy, Grace & Evan made the walk with me. A very emotional & touching event. The luminaria bags line both sides of the track all the way around. Just so happened that where we were standing waiting to start, the bags next to us (about 7 or 8) were for a friend of ours, Brad Wims, who passed away in March.

Sunday afternoon we took the kids into Houston to visit Discovery Green. It's a nice park right in the middle of downtown. They have a little playground and water area that the kids enjoyed playing on. They're supposed to have an organic farmer's market down there too, but unfortunately we didn't find much of that. Kids had fun though!!

WAY TO GO EVAN!!

I know I just posted yesterday and this might be a record for me, but I just HAVE to brag on Evan. We played another baseball game last night and it ranked as one of the best little league games I have ever been to. Our team did GREAT! All of our kids were hitting the ball and fielding well. Evan hit a triple last night (the ball went all the way to the fence!!), and got a double play as well as several other outs playing first base. Final score was 16 to 5. We are soooooooo proud of him. I included a short video of him hitting the ball. It's a little dark, but it was the best I could do last night. Enjoy!!

Updating......

Okay okay...I'm behind again. Our internet has been down since last Friday when we had a few days of bad weather. Something about the modem got messed up and they had to send a new one. Anyway, we have internet again! Back in touch with the real world! I thought I would just give a few updates and post a slideshow so I can just knock everything out at once.

Evan still continues to play baseball. We're a young team this year (the majority of our team played t-ball last year) and had a rough start to our season. We have made DRASTIC improvements over the last couple of weeks and things have really turned around. We've won 2 games now!! Evan has actually been playing 1st base since about our 3rd game or so. He's doing soooooo well! He has gotten SEVERAL outs and continues to get better and better. He's a REALLY good batter as well. He did knock the ball all the way to the fence the other day for the first time -- he's come close before, but that was his 1st.

Grace is OBVIOUSLY inching closer and closer to 2. I believe we have entered the "Terrible Two's." Now she's not terrible all of the time, but believe me....she has her moments. I am convinced that she will hate baseball before this is all said and done. Sometimes she's quite the cheerleader...clapping her hands, yelling "go, go, go" or "Evan ball, Evan ball." But then there are the many other times where we feed her a pickle and one of her FABULOUS grandparents will take her for a walk so I can still watch Evan play. Thanks!!

Easter Sunday

I know I'm a few days behind.

We colored Easter eggs on Good Friday. Evan is an old pro these days, but Grace definitely still needs to work on her technique. When it was all said and done, Grace's entire right hand was blue along with a huge streak of blue from her thigh alllllllll the way down to her big toe. Not to mention the blue she got on my shirt and all over my pants. Oh well....we had a good time!

On Easter we went to church, had lunch at Memaw & Papa's and dinner at Nana & PawPaw's. The kids got a basket full of goodies, of course.

Sunday at church we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Thought I would share some photos from the event. The kids had a great time.

A Day at the Park

It was such a nice day this past Sunday, so Jeremy and I took the kids to the park for little while that afternoon. Evan got plenty of bike riding in and both the kids were able to burn off some energy on the playground. Grace wasn't so sure about the "big slides" at first, but quickly warmed up to the idea.

My Little Leaguer

Sorry for such a delay on a new post. Our computer had a virus that wouldn't allow the internet to work...it's fixed now! Thought I would share a few baseball moments. Evan has been playing third base so far this season. He's also quite the hitter. No strike-outs so far. He was named MVP for last Monday's game. He got the game ball as well as a certificate to Outback. Enjoy!

We made a trip to San Antonio while Evan was on Spring Break. We visited the Riverwalk & Sea World. Thought I would share some of our pictures.

Counting...

Recently Grace has started "counting" to three. In the video, however, I guess she's warming up to count? Still, it's pretty cute...if you ask me. I do believe she gets her hick accent from her daddy. Not sure how many vowels she puts in the word "two." Enjoy!

Baseball!

Opening day for baseball was this past Saturday. Evan is on the Nationals this year. Unfortunately they lost their first game, but there's still plenty left in the season. He's playing 3rd base for the time being. I wasn't able to attend the first game, so I don't have many pictures to post, but there will be more to come!

Updates...

Just wanted to give everyone a few updates. I went in last week for my check-up at MD Anderson. Yep...more milkshakes. Everything came back clear! 14 months cancer-free now.

Evan had his Blue & Gold Banquet for cub scouts. He completed everything for his wolf advancement as well as several other achievements. He also got a trophy for the most colorful cake. Yea!! It auctioned for $28.

I've been looking around for the last few months for an outdoor slide for Grace. I was hoping to find one used instead of having to pay full price. I lucked out! I found one today that is in excellent condition...was only used indoors. She loves it so far!

Pizza Cake

One of the events for Evan's blue and gold banquet for cub scouts was to make a cake. They judge them on different categories, Evan gets a patch and then they auction them off to raise money for the pack. We made a pizza cake. Everything on it is candy/sweet. Had to share some pictures of it. We'll let you know later how the judging goes. Enjoy.....

Evan Lost His Marble...I Mean Molar

Evan lost his first molar yesterday. It was actually really loose on Wednesday night, but we decided to leave it alone so that he would be able to pull it out at school the next day. His teacher has a really cute little tooth necklace that holds your actual tooth inside of it that she gives you when your tooth comes out at school. The tooth fairy brought Evan a very generous $5 last night.

Sesame Street & Remote Control Trucks

Let me first say that Grace is a definite Sesame Street fan. Her favorite is Melmo (Elmo) and A B (Abby Cadabby) is a close second. Amy, Gage, Nana, Grace and I went to see Sesame Street Live on Sunday afternoon. Both kids loved it. Grace, however, cried REAL tears EVERY time Elmo went off the stage -- Asking "Where Melmo? Where Melmo?" Anyway ... we had a good time.

While Grace and I were at Sesame Street, Jeremy and Evan spent some quality time together--spending money that is. They went and bought a new remote control truck.

A few words from Grace....

It's been a while so I thought I'd share a short clip of Grace talking. She actually talks A LOT. We understand quite a bit of what she says, but of course there's a lot of rambling mumbo jumbo too. Oh, and she's wearing Evan's underwear inside out and backwards. Don't worry -- they're clean! Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary!

Today, February 4th, 2009 Jeremy and I are celebrating our 3rd anniversary. He sent me a very pretty arrangement of red roses and pink tulips (my favorite!) with a happy anniversary balloon attached. Grace has tried many times to confiscate the balloon. We're actually going to celebrate Friday night -- just the two of us...yea!

Busy as Always

We've been busy as always. Evan had baseball try-outs on Saturday. We should be finding out pretty soon what team he'll be on. Then, practice and games will begin very shortly after. Baseball season is always a hectic time of year! He's also in cub scouts -- we meet every other Sunday afternoon. And little Grace just has to go along for the ride. We know that eventually Jeremy and I will have to split up so one takes one kid and the other one takes the other kid to their various activities. She's into EVERYTHING these days. She can now reach the counter in the kitchen so if there's anything up there that looks like it might be edible, she's yanking it down. She's now putting two and three words together in a sentence. One of my favorites... "Where mote?" (for where's the remote?) Haha. Below is a picture of one of her favorite "nack" (snacks) and she's thrilled to be able to eat it this way....

Playdates

My very good friend Ang brought Aiden over to play with Grace on Friday. They had such a good time together even though neither likes sharing too much. Aren't they cute??

Awwwwwwe!

Saturday we had Marquis, Amy, Bre & Gage as well as Jason, Ang & Aiden over for some fajitas, XBox & Wii. The boys played Rock Band and did a good job taking turns with the drums, guitar and singing. If I was thinking, I could have gotten some video...next time! Pretty funny from a spectator's standpoint!

Oh What a Silly Grace...

Just had to share a few photos of Grace and her many faces.

Oh and one more.... see what happens when she doesn't take a nap??
