Over the Weekend...

Last Friday was Relay for Life here in Baytown. I participated in the survivor walk for my second time. Jeremy, Grace & Evan made the walk with me. A very emotional & touching event. The luminaria bags line both sides of the track all the way around. Just so happened that where we were standing waiting to start, the bags next to us (about 7 or 8) were for a friend of ours, Brad Wims, who passed away in March.

Sunday afternoon we took the kids into Houston to visit Discovery Green. It's a nice park right in the middle of downtown. They have a little playground and water area that the kids enjoyed playing on. They're supposed to have an organic farmer's market down there too, but unfortunately we didn't find much of that. Kids had fun though!!

WAY TO GO EVAN!!

I know I just posted yesterday and this might be a record for me, but I just HAVE to brag on Evan. We played another baseball game last night and it ranked as one of the best little league games I have ever been to. Our team did GREAT! All of our kids were hitting the ball and fielding well. Evan hit a triple last night (the ball went all the way to the fence!!), and got a double play as well as several other outs playing first base. Final score was 16 to 5. We are soooooooo proud of him. I included a short video of him hitting the ball. It's a little dark, but it was the best I could do last night. Enjoy!!

Updating......

Okay okay...I'm behind again. Our internet has been down since last Friday when we had a few days of bad weather. Something about the modem got messed up and they had to send a new one. Anyway, we have internet again! Back in touch with the real world! I thought I would just give a few updates and post a slideshow so I can just knock everything out at once.

Evan still continues to play baseball. We're a young team this year (the majority of our team played t-ball last year) and had a rough start to our season. We have made DRASTIC improvements over the last couple of weeks and things have really turned around. We've won 2 games now!! Evan has actually been playing 1st base since about our 3rd game or so. He's doing soooooo well! He has gotten SEVERAL outs and continues to get better and better. He's a REALLY good batter as well. He did knock the ball all the way to the fence the other day for the first time -- he's come close before, but that was his 1st.

Grace is OBVIOUSLY inching closer and closer to 2. I believe we have entered the "Terrible Two's." Now she's not terrible all of the time, but believe me....she has her moments. I am convinced that she will hate baseball before this is all said and done. Sometimes she's quite the cheerleader...clapping her hands, yelling "go, go, go" or "Evan ball, Evan ball." But then there are the many other times where we feed her a pickle and one of her FABULOUS grandparents will take her for a walk so I can still watch Evan play. Thanks!!

Easter Sunday

I know I'm a few days behind.

We colored Easter eggs on Good Friday. Evan is an old pro these days, but Grace definitely still needs to work on her technique. When it was all said and done, Grace's entire right hand was blue along with a huge streak of blue from her thigh alllllllll the way down to her big toe. Not to mention the blue she got on my shirt and all over my pants. Oh well....we had a good time!

On Easter we went to church, had lunch at Memaw & Papa's and dinner at Nana & PawPaw's. The kids got a basket full of goodies, of course.

Sunday at church we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Thought I would share some photos from the event. The kids had a great time.
